Bold color is the soul of my art. I paint landscapes & gardens using dramatic colors, often on a red background. Working on location allows me to capture the feel & shapes of the place, but I apply personal color choices, using pairs of complements for visual vibration & leaving bits of the red showing through areas of cool blues & greens. In the studio, I use outdoor paintings & photos as reference for larger pieces, experimenting with acrylic paints & mediums while retaining an emotional connection to the landscape.

Directions:
From the State Capitol in Columbia, take Gervais Street (U.S. 1) east, turn left on Bull St., which becomes I-277. Take I-20 East to Florence. Exit at Two Notch Road & turn left (U.S. 1 North). Go approximately 6 miles until you pass the Sparkleberry intersection. Look for studio on the left, across Two Notch Road from Target.
