Thanks to you, 701 CCA has had a wonderful year! Your generous gifts and your participation
in our exhibitions and other programs have made 2011 another exciting and creative year at 701
CCA. To continue our stimulating programming, we need your investment.
Your support in 2011 enabled our community to enjoy the paintings of Alex Powers from
Myrtle Beach and the ceramic sculptures of Diana Farfan from Greenville. We celebrated our
state’s contemporary artists through the sculpture exhibition SC3D, Triennial Revisited and the
inaugural SC Biennial Part I & II. 701 CCA also revived Columbia Open Studios this year, and
our second series of summer camps for children and teenagers had a waiting list.
You helped make these innovative programs possible.
Your financial commitment will move us forward. With your support, we will see Zenitram,
aka David Martinez, from Aiken convert our gallery into an elaborate story involving life-size
action heroes, tunnels and light and sound effects. We will introduce The 701 CCA Prize, a
competition for young South Carolina artists. We also will expand the summer camp, partner
with our local dance troupes, organize concerts and host Columbia Open Studios 2012.
Your gift will allow 701 CCA to promote understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of
contemporary art, the creative process and the role of art and artists in the community. Your
generosity will encourage interaction between visual arts and other art forms as we serve as the
hub for all forms of contemporary artistic expression in our community.
