Recycled Materials Family Workshop with David Cianni

  Back by Popular Demand!! April 14, 2012 – 10 am -1 pm   Ages 6-12,  plus  Parents or Grandparents

Your family is invited to join an incredibly unique workshop at 701 Center for Contemporary Art with artist David Cianni!

Due to popular demand, current 701 CCA exhibition artist and artist in residence David Cianni will conduct an extra recycled materials art workshop for children 6 – 12 and their adult supervisors. During this workshop for families, Cianni will demonstrate how he creates a cyborg or robotic sculpture from recycled and post-consumer materials. Children and parents will help Cianni in the process of creating a sculpture.

 

— No registration necessary.

— Space limited to 30 participants, first come first serve.

— Workshop Cost: $5 per participant (at least one adult must register per family).

–Workshop will be held in the 701 CCA Artist in Residence loft, Suite 205 from 10 am – 1 pm.

— Bring recycled materials that you might want Cianni to incorporate in his sculpture.

The exhibition David Cianni – Alternate Universe: The M-BORA Project will be open before, during and after the workshop.

 

Please arrive no later than 15-20 minutes before workshop begins to allow time for check-in. We don’t want you to miss a minute of fun! FYI- breakfast is available from local vendors at the adjacent All Local Farmer’s Market starting at 8 am.

Search your house and bring as many recycled materials as possible!

The sculpture will be large so please bring larger pieces. Such items may consist of but not limited to:

car/motorcycle parts

shocks

springs

nuts, screws,

washers

spark plugs with cables

vacuums and/or parts

chains

bungee cords

electrical cords

skates, skateboards

buoys from fishing –

large hard plastic bowls

large computer parts – especially colored backing from Mac computers

And anything else your family finds interesting that needs a new purpose!
