701 CCA 2019 South Carolina Biennial Part I & II

This exhibition is the fifth installation of 701 CCA’s SC Biennial since 2011.  The SC Biennial is a statewide juried contemporary art exhibition that takes place every two years.  The goals of the Biennial exhibition are to provide a venue to showcase recent work reflecting local, regional and national trends and issues influencing contemporary artists living and working in South Carolina and to increase awareness and appreciation of the artistic contributions and accomplishments of the state’s visual artists. Artists are solicited through an Open Call. Twenty-five artists are selected to participate in the exhibition. The SC Biennial provides a regular overview of the best of contemporary art in South Carolina and has consistently drawn large crowds from all over the state and generated a lot of enthusiasm in the South Carolina art world and beyond. A catalogue was published by 701 CCA in conjunction with the opening of the SC Biennial Part II on November 15, 2017.
