Assemblage artist Monica invites you to a vibrant collage workshop that begins in collaboration and flows into independent creation. Participants will start with a lively group exercise to spark inspiration, exchange ideas, and experiment with unexpected combinations. Monica will also demonstrate photo transfer techniques, offering participants new ways to layer imagery and build dynamic surfaces. From there, the workshop shifts into personal exploration, as everyone develops a unique collage using textures, found imagery, and bold compositions. Monica’s approach celebrates play, discovery, and inventive storytelling, making space for both shared energy and personal expression.

Monica is the Artist in Residence from November 23 – December 20.

Artist Biography:
Monica Cioppettini (b. 1994, United States) received a B.F.A. in fine art from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey in 2017, and an M.F.A. in painting in 2020 from The Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA. She has participated in group and solo exhibitions in New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. Cioppettini is a multidisciplinary artist whose work centers around used jewelry and found objects, collected from local thrift shops and flea markets with an interest to give a second life to something that was once so personal and close to a stranger. Using accessories as examples of identity, each gold necklace or pearl earring has a story and sentiment attached to it. But then it was thrown away or cast aside, forgotten in piles of dirt and dust in thrift shops waiting to be found. Cioppettini is living and working in Savannah GA, and recently had a solo exhibition at the SCAD Museum of Art throughout the summer of 2021.
