Exhibition: Leah Mulligan Cabinum – clear
Clover, South Carolina, artist Leah Mulligan Cabinum is 701 Center for Contemporary Art’s artist in residence.
Cabinum began her residency on January 20, 2021 in preparation for a solo exhibition that will open March 11, 2021.
Leah Mulligan Cabinum is best known for her sculptural installations and objects made from diverse materials and varied techniques. Cyclical processing is the pervasive theme throughout her practice. “I’m interested in linking the physical and the conceptual.” Often derived from found or repurposed cast-offs or detritus, her materials are chosen for their inherent attributes and for symbolic play. Cabinum’s practice has been described as post-minimalist, risky and honest.
